The Albères Massif is an iconic site in the south of France, located at the border between the Roussillon plain and Spain, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees mountains.
It is the easternmost outpost of the Pyrenean mountain range, literally plunging into the sea between Argelès-sur-Mer and Portbou on the Catalan side.
